Many consumers are unaware that retailers are tracking them via facial recognition, cell phones and other invasive methods to follow different shopping habits. Companies collect this data and determine the optimal place for endcap displays and what products to advertise in each area of the store. Do you feel this is a violation of consumer privacy?

  • Retailers have been doing this for years. Wake up! Why do they even have end caps if not to sell more products. Granted before cell phones it was a little harder to collect the information but you can bet any successful retailer has been gathering data on how you shop for many years.

    If you don’t want to be tracked in the store while shopping leave your cell phone in the car or turn it off.
